After crossing The Hill Site back & forth & finishing The Trackway Site in 2 hours 45 mins we decided it was time to pull stumps & try elsewhere after Lunch. We had only had 2 scrappies & a bunch of buttons. Trackway Site finished.

After lunch I wanted to explore a field that we tried before & had no luck but I didn't want to write it off just yet, as it was close to a Church on a hill. This attempt wasn't much better with only a holed scrappy turning up in 1 hour 45 mins.

Cru'dad wanted to save the day & try the Roman Wood Site that he had scouted after a 6 inch turn.(he had 2 Roman Coins in 45 mins) It was a little rough & we had already taken off 89 Roman Coins this year after the deep plough, so we were not expecting the 20 Roman coins we got in 1 hour!

25 Roman Coins (including Cru'dad 2 from the other day)
Tudor Button
17th C Button (type I've never seen)
Georgian Coin Weight
Lead Token
bits...

Jpeg 7 and 8 are not too shabby Crusader, I like the better quality minited Roman's...these are generally older , before the end was nigh if you like?

Similar shape but yours looks like cast lead & my 16th C example is copper-alloy (Bronze).

Not true in this case. All the good ones where 4th C.
Too many factors involved as to why some come out nice & others near blank.

Good day! :icon_thumleft:
Still no rain here.....
Oh dear.
We were doing well for rain, but had a warm spell & the lumps have dried but still wet a little deeper, although not looking forward to the heat wave tomorrow being blown from your neck of the woods.

I like the Anglo Saxon drilled Roman coin, and the belt fittings and buckle. I might work one of those up when I have the time.

UPDATE:

Cru'Dad informed me today that the Roman Bronze Coins in this post pushed us past the 15,000 mark on our database of GPSed Roman Bronze Coins.
