Was rummaging around in my 1860's permission barn and turned up this lock. looks like it has been closed with key in place a long time.
Mainly interested in age and should I clean it. The case is iron and the bottom plate could be brass. The key says Black Knight Padlock. Thanks for any help.

I love old locks but I don’t know a lot about them. However, this one looks more modern to me, maybe 1970s or 80s?
