What a day it has been!
I have always seen people find buckles and other various civil war goodies beside the typical bullet, and thought wow if only I could find a site/ relics like that. It’s nearing the one year anniversary of my journey metal detecting and I have dug tons of bullets, a few buttons and some other petty civil war goods. But Ive been waiting for something unique and different than the usual. I decided as a one year gift I would upgrade my detector and just bought a simplex because the price point was too good to pass up! All of the reviews matched it with the top if the line machines. Anyways I just got it in the mail and decided to take it to a near hunted out yard that is right on the main lines of the battle, and boy was I rewarded! Being a new machine and a hunted yard I decided to dig every signal. I ended up with tons of aluminum cans and bottle tops. But I know now why they say dig everything these two buckles rang like sheet metal, or that horrible tin roofing that I know everyone has dug before. 60-98 target jumping around like an undesirable. The bullets did the same. Don’t cherry pick targets. Dig everything and don’t get discouraged that others find a lot. Have fun and practice & luck will be shortly on your side!

One looks to be some sort of sling buckle/ adjuster.
The d buckle is either solid or plated silver. Maybe horse tack, or belt buckle.
