Had a good day at the site that I found on the old battle map, that has produced many bullets and one 1800s coin in the past. Was supposed to be joined by CarolinaTom, but the weather wasn't great and he decided to stay near home - smart move! He got his first CW button as you probably saw. Great find! Bad weather actually helped. In my case I was going by the site anyway and turned out to be decent weather other than two hours. I got four bullets including this Williams Cleaner (thanks to Tom for ID). I gave one bullet to the land owner, so three are pictured. One tiny buckle I gave the landowner and forgot to photo. I found three of these stem like items and I found a couple in the past. Any idea what they are and if they are CW related? Round on one end and square on the other. Found on the Confederate side if that helps, though the Union was right nearby so it could be either. Next time I will photo and post the earthworks too.

Thanks. Earthworks are the mounds they built up as protection against incoming men, bullets, etc. Pretty cool to see them still there.

Good show Bergie!

I wish that I could have made the trip.

Glad to see you found some goodies. I bet something good is hiding around those earthworks!

Good luck brother.

Your stem like item is probably a shutter dog post. I have a 1812 home and att the window shutters have the posts with a rotating dog on the round end and the square end attached to the house.
