Found this pin while metal detecting in a yard with early 1900s artifacts. Lots of Norwegians and Swedes up here in these parts, but I can’t match the shape to anything there, even counties.

Any idea of what nation this might be? Perhaps even a specific country or island in Scandinavia?

That's a pin? I don't see any attachment point. Is it on the other side? Photo?

I'm of Norwegian decent....it's not any part of Scandinavia (I think you mean Norway/Sweden) that I'm familiar with. Are you sure it's a pin?

It’s definitely a pin. The reason I say Scandinavia specifically is the family who built the place came from Norway and they intermarried with Swedes. Could be from elsewhere, but that seems to make the most sense.

Looks like the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to me... but, hey, I'm a Brit so what do I know?

Brilliant! I am laughing at myself because I said to my self I know that shape. It's the Great Lakes. Of course I look at the map my the wall and it is not the Great Lakes. But I just couldn't see the obvious right in front of me. Thankfully we have foreigners who can set us straight. Thanks Red Coat! :laughing7: LittleMan that is one ugly pin, but still a very cool find.

Haha yes... I'm from Ohio and the shape didn't even look vaguely familiar. Good ID Red-Coat.

My first guess was going to be "Atlantis", but I couldn't find a match.
