Today we returned to the Roman Site where we found the nice Rare Roman Silver in the above link.
We gridded for 5.5 hours & managed to miss the worst showers of the day. We finished about 85% of the scatter, but we need to keep moving, so that it for this year. (also the Winter Wheat was doing well)

31 Roman Bronze Coins (3 ok ones)
3 Roman Fibula (Brooches)
1 Iron Age (Celtic) Fibula

Our American finds must seem quite mundane and not too exciting to an archaeologist or detectorist in Britain where you can dig through a layer of Tudor artifacts to a layer of early Medieval artifacts to a layer of Roman artifacts to a layer of Iron Age artifacts to a layer of Stone Age artifacts. Every County in England is a veritable treasure trove.

Yes, but you have to find the right 20% of fields (& then the right spots within those fields, making the target smaller), 80% are blank.
