Got lucky and dug the buckle. I detect with the Equinox 800. Buckle hit in bullet range of 18 but was about 14 inches down. Was a great surprise. The item to the left are stacked Burnside casings. I guess the soldier was bored. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1602448443.775280.jpg

Yes you did ,and some odd bullets too.

This spot has given up a wide array of bullets. I think it was used multiple times throughout the war as a camp. I have only found two gardners at this location.

Great collection of CW finds! That's something we never see here in New England.

Nice stuff. Besides the Burnside cartridges I see a Colt pistol bullet, classic Yankee 3 ringers, Sharps Carbine, a Merrill carbine bullet and CS Gardner. A whole collection in one trip! The triangle is part of a standard issue US knapsack set.

Outstanding find RR3! Finding a US buckle in the year 2020 is quite a feat. Congrats!

You’re right about 2020 but I have been fortunate to find 3 plates this year. My first 10 years of detecting I could never find one. Probably because detecting js the best social distancing hobby.

Great collection of CW finds! That's something we never see here in New England.

The trade off is the nice colonial relics New Englanders find. Would love to find a GW button.
