Nice hunt and congratulations on finding the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. I'm liking the lock and the clock key as well!

Thanks everyone, that is my first silver coin in many years. It is also my very first half dollar. I just got back into the hobby about a year ago. i was in it pretty heavy in the early 90's and found numerous silver dimes and quarters. I had a Compass detector back then.

The house i found it at was built in the late 1800's. it was very trashy, you had to really go slow and pay attention to the sounds and numbers. My son in law got me back into it and he also found his very first silver. it was a flying eagle quarter. he was excited. i was tickled to see him finally find one.

He also got me to using a shovel, back then all i ever used was a small hand trowel. i will admit these new detector shovels are nice. and a whole lot easier on the back and hands over a days digging. we probably was digging for 4 hours total.
