Hello, I'm still fairly new to metal detecting and yesterday I found my first harmonica reed plates along with a top cover plate still attached to a bit of wood. The reeds are still attached. I've searched and searched online with no luck in finding a match or how old it might be. It says "Our Girls and Boys". Any help would be much appreciated!

What a great find. Usually only the reed plates remain!

I would think with the words "Our girls and boys" I would look for scout related or WWII related possibly.

I agree with Back of the Boat. Because it says "Our Girls and Boys" I would guess it's WWII related. Neat find.

Thank you all for your replies. Yeah, WWII makes a lot of sense. The site dates from the 1850's all the way up to the 1980's. I find that doing the research on the stuff that is found is almost as fun as detecting...well, almost...

Nice looks like a good spot to hunt.If I had a penny for all the reeds I found I would be wealthy.
