Good work! Not an easy club to join, especially depending on your locale. Keep up the good work!

Sweet that is the same year and coin I found when I joined the 1800’s club too. I’ll never forget it.

Possibly a dumb question, but where do these ring up around typically? Do they send off a copper penny signal?

Not a dumb question at all. I'm new to this also so someone else may can give a more experienced answer. Indian Heads can ring up lower than clad. My Equinox say that pennies will fall in the 20-21 range. But my experience and from reading other posts Indian Heads are in the high teens. This one came up as 18-19. So just start searching a little lower number. Maybe you get more trash but sometimes an old Indian pops up.

Nice! My first 1800s coin was an IH as well. My good finds for that day were an IH and a rosy... Initially I was more excited about the rosy bc it was also my first silver but quickly realized how much better the penny was!

It really depends... I'm speaking from only two years of experience but on the ACE 300 they can beep anywhere from mid 60s (pulltab) to 80s. Most modern pennies are usually mid 70s (zinc) to mid 80s (copper) but I dig all the mid-high tones because if there is any trash nearby because it sometimes varies depending on the soil, depth, and trash.

Congrats nice find, always special to find an 1800's coin, I've only found a dozen or so in 15+ years of detecting [oldest 1835 this summer]

Congrats nothing like seeing that 18 on a coin. Took me almost a year to find my 1899 Indian. It’s the thrill that keeps us searching. Good luck finding silver.
