Decided to take the Equinox 800 to a mid-1800s house I’d hit quite hard with my Explorer SE Pro and even brought the CTX there once. I only had about an hour before dark and was amazed to be hitting targets I’d missed with the Explorer–many were either very small like .22 casing and others were co-located with nails in the hole.

I hit this lovely old brooch fairly quickly today. It’s feathers are composed of small stars and it appears to be holding a berry or something and it’s perched on what appears to be twine...interesting piece and unexpected. I'm guessing this is from the later 1800s as the detail is starting to flake off to the point that I'm reticent to try and clean it any more for fear of losing detail. Any thoughts on the item or further preservation?

Agreed, you can see the gold on the reverse in 1 spot.

Cool find, like the old brooch/pins from the Victorian era.

I have found that the Deus HF coil will sniff out things that both SE, Etrac, and the boat anchor 3030 missed.
