Hi everyone. If you’ve read my recent posts you’ll know that I’ve been detecting recently with a buddy here in town who is relatively new to detecting.
Well, he got a call from a friend whose wife had lost a ring recently. My buddy went to their property, which is a few towns away, and he tried to find the ring but was not successful.
But he got a great 39-40 on his Vanquish (a detector I helped him choose) and he dug it up, and this is what he found.

Luck SOB.
Yes I’m a bit jealous. I’m a human, with human emotions.
Please help me be happy for him, a guy who started detecting a month ago.

Just think of it this way: us "experienced guys" skip over those signals as crushed aluminum cans :laughing7:

This is so true Erik... great reminder for us to dig all those signals we now pass over as 'junk'.

just started a month ago? dang what a start. I'm a bit jealous too. A morgan has been on my digging wish list since I started 45 years ago and haven't come across one yet.

Congrats to your friend, on his Morgan. It took me 10 years to find my first one, and another 10 years for the next two. They are a tough one to find, but they are out there. Yours will come one day.

Gorgeous silver dollar... and almost 140 years old!

Congrats to your buddy, and without you he wouldn't have found it...

I got 4 Morgans out of a 1 foot area back in August near a remote mining camp. After 20 hard years of detecting, I figure that I earned every penny of that '4 bucks.':tongue3:
