I found this 1 pc military button with shank today that has “Republique D’Haiti” and a cannon on it, but I can’t find ANY matches... Was 8” deep in a field with history dating to the 1600’s. I’m assuming it dates from the 1820-1850’s but I need Help!?!

Do not know about the button, but the Republique D'hati is a small contrite in the carribian that was founded in 1804 and is still around today.

Any chance of posting a picture of the reverse and a more clear picture of the front? Thanks...interesting find.
