26B2CCA3-2108-4A3E-AC38-453C687268FD.jpeg Very sparse historical finds in the area But history books say otherwise.Laying on top of the ground! Passed over it for the last several decades literally. After A decent rain this little guy was revealed. My detector was messing up I thought, so I changed search Coils and did a test by throwing a quarter and dime down on the ground. As I was scanning with larger search Coil I noticed a penny on the ground Near the quarter. DCCAA126-754C-4E69-9273-BBC3E7A8722D.jpeg 59616516-65B8-4BBA-AF87-0FBC31F1E246.jpg
Or so I thought. Artillery second regiment with Leavenworth Hayden and Scovill backmark.

What a beauty absolute beauty that is full of history and that one as a back Mark that I didn’t know they had. I was metal detecting a fort in New Orleans when I found my first Script “I”
pewter button with nothing in the middle of the circle. IMG_0811.jpg
And a amazing thing happened just last week a year ago I found this piece of whatever and I put it in my jar of pieces of whatever. This is what I found IMG_0812.jpg
Well last week for some reason mainly boredom I was looking through this particular jar and I picked up that piece and for some strange reason I took some nose grease and rubbed what I thought was the back and this is what I saw it was a truly unbelievable moment when you found out you’ve had something that you didn’t know you’ve had for that long. This Fort has produced a lot of AMAZING things for me but finding something that I thought was nothing that was some thing and saving it for some unknown reason from the Revolutionary War was amazing. Congratulations on your beautiful piece of American history
