We are leaving the new 250 acres for now.
In the morning we tried a low yield Roman Site that has never produced a Roman Silver but has produced a Celtic Gold but after 2.5 hours the deep plough conditions were just too rough. Plus we only had 4 Roman Coins, although I fluked out a hammered.

In the afternoon we returned to the Sewage Site & pretty much finished off the 2 hotspots.

5 Hours Total:

5 Roman Coins
Celtic Fibula
17th C Lead Powder Flask Lid
Cloth Seal
Tudor Book Clasp
9kt Gold Cuff-link (looks silver in the picture:icon_scratch:)
18?? 3 Pence
Grotty Hammered Penny (unknown)
Cru'dad got the find of the day; Top section of a 6th C Saxon Girdle Hanger. At first I thought it a really rare 6th C pendant, but its one of the best modelled tops to a hanger that I've seen. (First Saxon piece from this field)

Congrats on the gold and silver.
Rough plows a just a rough go-no matter how one walks on them.

Wow only 4 Romans and 1 hammered?
If I found 1 Roman or 1 hammered, in a lifetime, I would be over the moon.
Great finds Crusader.
I always enjoy your post and pictures.

amazing finds! congrats on all of it, how old do you think that gold cuff link is? also, the top piece of the girdle hanger is the second relic from the left? I've learned a lot from your posts over the years, thanks for always sharing your finds!

A day with a hammered isn't a bad day but having an unexpected early medieval find is worth an ankle breaker! :icon_thumright:

Couldn't read the hall-mark on the cuff-link, so my best guess is early 1900s.

The Girdle Hanger piece is on the far left of the group picture of artefacts. It's a stretched beasts head, thought to be a horse.
