I had a great 2020 and despite all the lockdowns I still managed a few good outings.
With this being my first full year in Europe I am very happy with the quality of some of my finds. I'm still kinda stuck in the post-medieval era for the most part but a few lucky digs have been able to push back the dates a little bit.
I hope you enjoy looking at my highlights.

I apologize in advance for the long post.

First, we have to look at the coins (all of these pictured here date from the late 1600's-1899.)
IMG_7459.jpeg

A nice little 2 centimes from France dated 1862
IMG_7491.jpeg IMG_7492.jpeg

A worn yet identifiable liard de France from 1695-1699
IMG_7493.jpeg IMG_7494.jpeg

A liard from Luxembourg dated 1759
IMG_7496.jpeg IMG_7497.jpeg

A super neat half liard from Luxembourg dated 1783
IMG_7481.jpeg IMG_7482.jpeg

A 12 deniers coin from France made from 1791-1793. Not silver but Bell metal. Had me fooled for a bit though!:laughing7:
IMG_7498.jpeg IMG_7499.jpeg

A crisp Dutch 1 cent coin from 1828
IMG_7502.jpeg IMG_7503.jpeg

And my only non-Roman silver coin this year. A crusty yet beautiful German 1 Mark from 1899.:icon_thumright:

Now, for the RELICS
IMG_7510.jpeg

One of my true highlights of the year was this STUNNING seal matrix from around the 14th century:hello2:
IMG_7513.jpeg IMG_7514.jpeg

Another relic from the medieval era is this broken buckle piece from the 14th century.
IMG_7515.jpeg

As always a bit of bling is appreciated. Modern 8ct gold ring with possible sapphire 8-)
IMG_7516.jpeg

A nice WW1-WW2 era British cap badge from East Lancashire
IMG_7517.jpeg

A chunky 19th-century solid silver spoon
IMG_7520.jpeg IMG_7521.jpeg

A beautiful silver Fireman's medallion awarded for 20 years of service. 1882 is the year the organization was founded, not the year it was made.
IMG_7518.jpeg IMG_7519.jpeg

A tiny French military button from the Napoleonic wars. Circa 1800.
IMG_7523.jpeg IMG_7524.jpeg

A late 17th-century spectacle buckle
IMG_7522.jpeg

Now, for my favorite section of finds. My ROMAN COINS! Sadly no Roman relics but the coins make me more than happy.
IMG_7525.jpeg

A CONSTANTIUS II coin dating from 348-352AD
IMG_7526.jpeg IMG_7527.jpeg

And my favorite find of the year. A silver Roman Denarius from Elagabalus dating from 218-222AD:headbang:
IMG_7528.jpeg IMG_7529.jpeg

Also, I can't forget, my small collection of fossils found along the way. All of which are small marine creatures.
IMG_7530.jpeg

A nice photo with my top ten finds all in one place 8-)

Thanks for taking the time to look at my post. I wish you all a great day and good luck in 2021!

Looks like a good year.

Spec Buckles like that are tough to pin a date on, could easily be 16th C. Most of the average size ones like that one went on a line up each leather boot. The more buckles you had, the more money.

The Roman Fibula (Brooches), can't bee far away.....
