    Ok, i have some answers in the form of pictures. Heres a bunch of different stuff i had near by for size reference.

    Heres a picture with a ruler. I couldnt find anything with cm but it looks like 11/16ths of an inch.

    And heres a picture of it on the scale at 1.5 grams. For some reason the lcd screen didnt show up too well on the camera.

    I think it could be a cufflink but would like to think it was a button. Im also going to lean towards it being 18th century gold button. My reasoning is that 80% of the stuff found at this site is 18th century. Shoe buckles, KG2s, toe taps, flag buttons are just some examples i can think of.

    Based upon its “look” as well as the age of some of the other finds at the site I would agree mid-late 18th century.

    Also heres a closer up pic of the markings and the shank. I think the shank was round and the mark is from Egyptians....so basically its an extra terrestrial gold button.

    I just want to say thank you to everyone who voted banner! Its my first Banner ever and i was so stoked to see the gold button on the banner! Made my day!

    Also thanks to everyone for helping me determine it was a cufflink!

    I spent another 6 hours in the field looking for the other one to no avail. Theres still a lot of ground to cover so im hoping its out there.
