How come whenever I break my phone I don't find no gold? That's a sweet find! I look forward to seeing it ID'd!

I think it only works the other way around. Find gold. Break something valuable. Fortunately, i had an upgrade available.

Oh, I see. It must be like how all of the best silvers get hit by the shovel.

Nice finds,
It does appear to have the look of gold.
My guess is it's a worn out gold coin fashioned into a button maybe.
I'd have to acid test that one.

Thanks Jer, im pretty sure its gold but an acid test is in order. I am kind of thinking it may be an old gold coin due to the weird marks on the back. Ill have to do some more googling

Those may be the hallmarks. Try to see if you can find similar ones online or in a book or something. Can we have some close ups of them? If they are hall marks, they a little crud witch could mean that they are older.

Agree. IMO it's not a button, but a broken cufflink. Nice find!

Yeah button or cuff link that was not a reused gold coin. Great find no matter what.

I don't see anyone else on here saying this but considering it's what looks to be an 18th-century button made out of GOLD, I'm voting BANNER!
