That’s the logo for the “Travelers Protective Association” of America. They held their annual convention in San Antonio in June 1895.

Conceived in 1882 in Chicago, Illinois and then established in Bellefontaine, Ohio it was originally a fraternal club for travelling salesmen. Its mission was to negotiate discounts and concessions from hotels, railroads and transport agencies to the advantage of its members and then later added accident insurance benefits.


They had various badges, medals and tags for their members and guest badges at convention times. The second one below is a luggage tag.

I agree, its either a Fob or commemorative badge of some sort. Great find.
