Have no idea what this was a part of. Also why I found a piece of black lava on eastern Long Island, NY. It's light, porous, yet hard. The triangular red piece is very dense, fine layers unlike iron and granular but yet iron-like. About an inch thick. From a an early 1800's site.

Very decorative and interesting piece. Was it buried? If so it cleaned up nicely.
