I found this class ring while down in North Florida. When I got home I found a name inside and started trying to locate this person so it could be returned to the rightful owner. Well, it took me a little while but, I eventually found them and sent a message via messenger that I had the ring and wanted to return it postage paid. That was a year and half ago.

This morning first thing, I got a reply! (And I thought I was bad about checking my messages) The owner described the ring perfectly including the school name, date, and the stone color. It's her ring! It wasn't too long until I was in touch with her by phone. According to her, it was taken from her hand 30 years ago in an armed robbery down in Central Florida. With a date of 1990 it must have been very new at the time.

It took 30 years but right finally corrected the wrong that was done. The ring is on it's way back home!

Nice work! Considering the circumstances, I'm glad there wasn't a finger in the ring!

Congrats for doing a good deed but that story makes me think twice about doing the right thing. One second your the hero and the next you're the suspect in an armed robbery. :laughing7: No wonder she took so long to respond.

Great work on the find and the return. I returned one last year that was stolen, but not in an armed robbery. My honorable mention vote is in. Stay safe and keep swingin.

I see your humor. However, I’ve never once regretted doing the right thing by returning lost items. I’ve returned a few items over the years when I could and never got a thanks but from a very, very few. Most the time, I got a thank you and a few hugs. I didn’t return them for a thanks. I returned them because they weren’t mine and I figured out who they had belonged to. I doubt that I’ll be a suspect. If I do, I’ll have you summoned as my character witness! :tongue3:

Good job. I lost my class ring a week after I got it in 1972. I'm still waiting for someone on here to find it and give it back to me! Gary

I was just joking. No offense. You did the right thing. Like your name GaRebel. My wife's great grandfather many times over was in the Georgia Infantry and my seventh great grandfather was in the Florida 2nd Infantry. Wounded and lost leg at the Rappohanock River.
