Found in an area of the front yard ... "hit" hundreds of times before .... this large button pops out of about 6 inches of soil. Again a reminder for me that no matter how often a plce has been "done" ..... don't be afraid to give it another go! Can anyone ID it for me?

Thanks,
GoingDown :)

Nice button. I've been fooled by a few buttons like that this year. They came out of the ground with the shank side down and i thought I had myself a few large coppers. Still a great find. I like finding the buttons almost as much as finding the coins.........almost ;) :D

Nice Colonial Button!! ;D All the large ones I've dug have no backmark....I've read that they stopped making these in the 1780's.

WTG!
