This weather is mad. Last week we had the coldest record for Feb for years & this week we have the warmest Feb on record!
Even the wind was warm today, so less layers needed, but it was back to the sticky boot routine. You can really feel the difference after 5 hours!

The Potato Field (just less than 3 hours):

2 18th C Military Buttons
Neolithic Flints
Tudor Purse Loop
2 Hammered - Ed I Penny & a Charles I Penny (holed)

Sewage Site (bit more than 2 hours):

Tudor Button
Medieval Buckle (type I need)
Medieval Book Clasp

The upper book clasp looks interesting. Not a common shape. And i see you got one of these tiny bullets too. Whats the decorated frag left to the tudor button? Edwards Penny is in good condition with only his nose rubbed off.
Our weather warmed up too. Rain started immediately like the weeks before with the ground still frozen. Looking forward to the mud battle next weekend.

Wow...the silver streak continues...neolithic flint...which piece is the medieval book clasp? A rare find? And one of the hammered has two holes in it....As usual, your posts are a must read!

I see why you think that. Its a circa 14th C Medieval locking Buckle. (I think they are Spur related) It's the first one I've had.

The decorated fragment is Medieval but I have no clue really, might be a bit of a book clasp. (when I picked it up I thought Saxon for a sec)

It's the piece above the red tipped bullet. Medieval Book Clasps are a scarce find for us (but not considered a rare object), because 99% of them are Tudor period (much more common).

Nice going on the silver and relics. The two holed penny would that be a whizzer? Usually done to greenies and not silvers.

Only seen 2 holed coins done in the Saxon period to Roman Coins. Never seen hammered with 2 holes before, so can't guess!

Tinker bracelet crossed my mind, but i don't know if these were made in medieval times or with medieval coins later...

The coin with the holes is super interesting, never seen one like that before.
