Can't Identify This Button
I found this button while metal detecting years ago. I have gotten back into it and tried to find a match on the internet and could not do so. Can anyone tell me if this is a Naval Civil War Button or a Marine button? I cannot find anything that is the same. The back is rusted.

i THINK it's a civilian blazer button. Not sure though. It is absolutely not a US marine button. My books are put away at the moment.

Like Smokeythecat said it is a civilian button. I found the same one years ago. They are still sweet looking.

It's a Navy wanna be button.
The design is taken after Navy buttons. But as already indicated it's a civilian issue.
