Small button any ideas

Went out after work on the farm that we lease to hunt. The older farmer that owned it past away several years ago told us he remembers plays the fields with mules. Hoping to turn up some decent stuff. I did find this button. Any ideas on what it might be? It about the size of an eraser.

what does back of it look like, is it flat, like a flat button 1 pc or 2pc?
