I have had these over forty years, did not dig them. The top is a belt plate, the bottom is a box plate. In the 1970s I had possibly the largest collection of CW belt plates in the northeast until a burglar got most of them. The little ones are very cool and rare. The box plate has a maker's stamp on the back as a lot of US plates did although the maker's marked ones are rarer than unmarked ones. I had 34 variations of US oval plates before the burglary which broke my heart. The collection would be worth hundreds of thousands today, there were many state militia and Confederate plates.
