Hey guys I can finally put something on the board. My fort site has come to a end The last couple of trips we’re all blanks I am between the drive I’m Bridge Toll it’s beginning to be non-productive. It has produced more for me than I would’ve ever imagined but I have to move on to greener pastures closer to my house. My tail was built in 1832 so what is produced a lot of Spanish Silver for me so I’m back scouting lame. I bought a book on Amazon on my town in Covington Louisiana it’s perfect for me I don’t like reading on with my ADD but this one has plenty of photos and small captions which are right up my alley. So I went to drive around to some of the streets the book was talking about and they had a house that was torn down what’s sale pending. I actually spoke with the guy who owned the house years ago by chance and he’s been detecting fr 40 years, so that being said I felt comfortable Metal Detecting the lot. What I have going against me was I’m sure detected his yard many times so I thought maybe I would have to go deeper than him so I left the big coil on from a prior hunt and I soon found out that there was trash everywhere. But I didn’t feel like changing it out so I just swinging and found a bent up 925 ring. So hat kept me in the game a little longer. Well between the roofing nails and tiny bits of aluminum and everything else that comes with a tear down I got a 12-13 hitting between all the other VDI’s’s at 3 inches so not expecting much I thought possible Jefferson nickel if anything and boy was I wrong. It was this beautiful gold guilted Cauvery cuff button I was in shock. Now I’m not sure if he dropped it or it’s been there because it’s a old town, but now she’s with me and she’s all mine LOL any tips on cleaning let me know.
Thanks for looking [emoji631]

That's a beautiful button with much gilting left on it. That's also a big ol' hunk of ring, fairly modern design so 3 inches sounds about right. Congratulations truth.

Congrats on the ring and the great looking button.
Heard many times lemon juice will bring out the gold wash-I'm sure there's a post up somewhere in the archives of TN.

Don

Hey Don I’m a go back tomorrow with my small coil I gotta hit while I can. Not to mention I’m gonna pass by there regularly and make sure I catch the guys that are clearing out the lot for when they build a new house. Hell I might say just load up the back of my truck with the soil they’re going to be moving. This might be a little game changer. We’ll see [emoji1360]

That’s the point I was going with but the bottom was only 3 to 4 inches down and when I’m using the big coil I thought it might be too big for a trashy site. So you think I still should use the big coil?

Nice work! It’s always a good day when a hunch works in your favor. Sounds like it was Sweat = Silver kind of day.
