Can anyone help me identify this?

    Good afternoon,

Found this today at a buddies place that dates back to the mid 1800's. Not sure how old/new this is and I also have no idea what it is. Anyone ever see anything like this? One end is flat and solid, and the other end is open with threads...

Looks like the handle of an old razor. I found one recently. I'll see if I have pic still.

I'm assuming this is an old razor. The actual razor head would screw on to the end. This one is brass.
