Greetings All,

Tried out a new wooded spot about 25 miles from home. Looked promising, with a series of old stone walls and walking paths. First targets looked good:

Then things went very quiet for about an hour. Finally came across a good signal. Turned out to be really good!

After some cleaning at hone a 1831 Capped Bust dime was revealed! This was only my third Capped Bust coin ever. Very exciting!

Thanks for taking a look. Good hunting to Everyone!!!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I'm amazed at the condition of this coin. I didn't do much to clean it...just gave it a bath in some hot water ( 1 cup) and baking soda ( 1 tablespoon) in a glass bowl lined with foil. After letting it soak for 10 minutes, I used q-tips to gently dab off any residual grime. Works every time, but it helps to start with a coin in great shape.
