Yeah , I was pretty jacked ! I had spent the whole day
at the dentist office before finding it , and was traumatized - it was a welcome sight to behold.

What is it about mid and turn of the century coins?...the designs are really beautiful...great find!

Coinstar magnet, thanks for liking. I agree re: the designs. Then again, all SDs are beautiful :icon_thumright:

Well now...that's a pretty great club to be part of! I keep banging on the door, but the detector gods won't let me in. A special find like yours must have a story behind it. Do tell!
Congratulations!!!

Silvermonkey, thanks. Keep banging - you'll get in someday. As for a special story hmm. Honestly when I first heard the high tone, I just thought it was another big hunk of iron near the surface causing iron wrap-around. Thankfully, the phase on the V3i screamed "silver". It wasn't far from where a still had once operated between 1805 and 1820.

Dave, thanks and yes after digging trash most of the AM, the SD was like "oh yes that is what I'm doing here". When I got it home my wife tried to lay claim to it as soon as I walked in the door. But I deflected the conversation in the nick of time. She has since forgotten about it (I think). :laughing7:
