Whenever I would find one of these at a permission site I’d ask the property owner if they wanted it. Nine times out of ten they would decline so I’d toss it in the “brass bucket” I kept in the garage. The one that I found yesterday (on top) I cleaned up a bit and maybe I’ll clean up the others as well on a rainy day. . . or not.

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Ha! I too have quite a collection of these. Each time I find one that has a crease in it from a mower blade I giggle knowing that some very bad words were said when the mower strike happened.

Nice!!! You know I picked up flat O'ring for the hose connection at a local hardware store and tried restoring one. It works great! Not as fancy as the new ones, but even in the ground for 50 plus years, they still do the job good! Happy Hunting!!!

It's still the best sprayer going. Nothing breaks, or no pin holes to plug up.
Nice pile your amassing.

I actually bought one this weekend from an old man...

It was a large brand new one... with brass quick release mechanism part.

$1 spent... just for the heck of it... to add to the pile.

Really just wanted the quick release part.

When we moved off the farm the new house already had a hose with a "sprayer". Coolest thing a country kid ever saw, but we weren't allowed to play with it. Dad said it wasted water!!

they Are better than anything you will by today. And you can still buy the O rings to fit them.

These are an example of a device that was neither over or under engineered ! No failure point built in - I've got a couple around here .

Thanks everyone for the comments and AARC, that's an impressive collection there!

So far I haven't found any that are stamped "Made in China". The one I cleaned up needs two small "O" rings on the inside and a flat washer at the hose end. Should work great after the O-ring tuneup.

Replace the washer. Those things last forever. Mines missing in my yard somewhere.

lol !

I should have stated that that picture is from the internet and NOT my own collection... arrtggg to set that up for a photo... um i don't have that many OR that much time for things like that.

heh... well that was fun :)

I was a garden hose sprayer king for a moment anyway :P

Better to be a flash in the pan than a sizzle and slight pop i guess :)
