Beautiful pendant! Know nothing about it, but isn't "585" 14K?
You need to show it to a jeweler to get their opinion & then be sure & get back to us!

Actually the 585 that is obvious is just the mark on the snap bail. It is not original to the piece. The pendant is marked with the makers mark and the eagle hallmark. So it’s french 18k. Great find!

Welcome to Tnet.

Beautiful. Yes, it’s 18K gold but can’t be dated from the French hallmark, except to say it’s not earlier than 1838. I don’t know the maker, but here’s a better view of the same maker mark from another piece. It appears to be a four-point star in a crescent with the letter ‘S’. Maybe that helps someone else track it.

That same maker mark is from another Plique à Jour pendant which is not nearly as nice as yours but if you have a Worthpoint subscription you can see what it sold for on eBay:

These particular designs are often referred to as ‘Notre Dame’ pendants because they’re inspired by the round stained glass windows in the Notre Dame Cathedral. Some are relatively precise copies and marked “Notre Dame de Paris - Rose Nord” or something similar and some are ‘inspired by’ (like yours).
