I got out to a pretty quick start. Found a couple musket balls and then a parasol piece. I was feeling like it may be a good afternoon. I then got a deep iron signal and pulled out this old tin can. The container is thick and the areas of connection are thick and maybe sealed with lead. I then noticed the back of the can had an odd hole in it. A friend suggested it resembles a punctured hole by a bayonet? What do you guys think?
I took a quick break to change shirts do to this old man sweats a lot!!! I then got back to the area of finds and found a 4 hole brass button followed by another one. About three feet away I found this nice flower button with an intact shank and a corroded tin back. Whoops it?s starting to lightly rain. The dig is going so well I didn?t want to leave. After about 15 more minutes of no good signals, I decided to move to the other side of the lot. I quickly got a faint but good sound and dug what I believe to be a Navy officers Bicorne cockade button. The reason I?m leaning towards that is because it?s Super small. Anyway the button is intact and I don?t care that I?m soaked. Not even a couple feet away I got a 70 signal on the Max and dug this intact dragoon cuff button. Unfortunately it?s now raining very hard so it?s time to go. If anyone could help on the navy button I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks for looking!!!

Love the Navy button, but know nothing about it !
Nice finds !
I have a spot here in Iowa that the Dragoon's spent the Winter of 1842-3 at. Unfortunately, the river has washed away most of the site......
