Got out for an hour with my new V yesterday and got first IH of 2008. Came in broken at about 4" in the nickel range. The Jeff is a '40. Finally quit snowing and being cold around here. Supposed to hit 60 today. Gonna go try it again this morning for a few hours. I've only had the Vaquero out three times, but am liking it so far. Eric

Hey Ed, Yeah the soil is pretty forgiving on IH's around here. Wheats are a different story. They all come out green, but the wheat's usually corrode pretty bad. Sold the dfx last spring. Still got the Garrett. Eric

cool garret and whites still suck ::) :D :D ;)
VDI/TID is way to distracting tone based is the way to go
also the one 9 volt you have in the tesoro will last twice as long as all the batteries in the suck sticks

Ed, You're killin' me. ;D Always count on you not to mince words. I'll give it to you though, your Troy has found some of the best stuff on here. I have no doubt that I've left good stuff in the ground with the TID. I'm hoping the beep and dig keeps working for me. Thanks to Mentalgranny for loaning me her Cibola at Caldwell. First time I'd used a Tesoro and I told her and Stoney next time they saw me, I'd probably have one. Stan, hope the trail has been giving up some good stuff for you. Late, Eric

depending on the site :-\
farm field/long gone home site pre 1930 (aluminum wasnt's widely used)
take risks run the disk between foil/tab
dig the big the pig iron get it out of the way!
what ive found is if you are digging pieces of brass or copper the size of a coin or tab
it will not "ramp" the circuit
they beep but dont pop
but like Indians or silver etc coins (lead ugh)
you can hear/feel the "ramp" then the signal will POP
also running the sens high at first (torched up) is fine
after you make a pass turn the sens down to little less then half
then crawl(like after a night at the REGAL BEAGLE) over the ground you just went over
listen, pivot 90',bump the disc up a notch, raise the coil
again research is the key 8)
