Spent nearly 8 man hours on the field, nice but windy day.

Not a very good day but we are keen to cover this field to the end & get on to the next one by the 02 Feb .

5 scrappy romans - keeps the count up.

What do you do with all those scrappy Romans you dig ???
Is it off to ebay with them where they are sold in lots,
or do you clean them up and keep a tally of which ones
you have?
Do tell, ;D

Scrappy romans in a jar - I now do a yearly count, got to beat 234 from 2007.
One's with some detail I give away at displays I do, to kids & those with an interest
Album coins - I keep labelled up.

I don't sell my stuff.

Probably the worst soil type for copper/bronze. Thankfully not silver though, do you detect outside your area ?

No need to, I'm able to do all the land in the area other than Church commission. Also I am fast becoming the local expert & local history interests me more than stuff miles away. We plot all major finds & this will be THE most extensive survey of our area. I did get some land last year that we haven't started yet & its about 40 mins drive. The rest I can cycle to.

Sir,

You will hit 300 Romans this year!

Kirk

I think you maybe right, we need at least 20 a/month to beat our record. We are now on 24, athough we will hit the summers months with none & after the harvest with 10 a day.
