AWESOME DAY!! Police button, Eagle button, V-Nickel, IH, Rosie, Tokens & MORE!

I had a great 2 hour hunt after work today at the new plantation spot I just started to MD.
I'm still hunting with a new Tesoro Silver Umax with stock coil for now. I finished up the front yard and scored an IH and a flat button, then worked part of the side yard. This section was HOT!!! I dug the coolest old button I've dug. By far my favorite and in fantastic shape. Almost all of the gold gilt is still there! I hit a large assortment today, and I was happy as a clam today. ;D
I won't bore you with details. Here's my finds for today:

*"POLICE" button (22mm) with gold gilt - Back mark is "A. Jacobs & sons - Baltimore MD." (circa 1915)
My best button ever!

*Eagle button (22mm) - Back mark "City Button Works - New York" (circa early 1900's?)

*18mm flat button - Back mark "Best Colour"

*1901 "V" nickel in very worn shape, but it is my first "V" nickel ever.

*1904 IH

*1946 Rosie dime - my first in about 6-8 months!!! (I mostly find Mercs)

*1940 & 1954 nickels

*Wheats- 1919S , 28 , 45 , 52D (x2) , 57D.

*"City Bus Lines" bus token.
Any idea on the age of this token, and/or what city?

*Egyptian looking token - about the size of a dollar, but a bit thinner.
Any info on this piece?

*Decorative copper lamp piece (?) - it is threaded all the way through.

*A Ford Model A ignition piece.

*A large spike looking thing.
Any ideas what this is?

*Asst'd relics.

Ya-hooooo!!! What a fun dig.
Thanks for looking,
MM

Civil,
It sure seems that way. ;D Whoever hit this place before sure didn't hit around the yard. ;) I want to get some woods time in too before the critters start crawling out there again.

Hell, I'll wash King Tut himself if it gets me his gold. ;D ;)
Thanks Joe. At first I thought (and hoped) it was a large coin. Oh well. :'(

History Buff is correct. That is a guard off of a sickle bar mower. My family used to own a John Deere dealership. We sold those guards by the hundreds. A sickle bar mower is pulled behind a tractor, and can cut a swath up to six or seven feet wide. It has a row of teeth that move back and forth. Each tooth has a guard that goes around it, which is what you found. The guard protects the tooth as well as providing a cutting edge for the tooth. I'm sure they still sell the mowers as well as the replacement guards. It probably doesn't have a lot of value, but I bet it sure set your detector off!

MM, your new spot is hot, hot, hot! Love the sweet buttons, Egyptian token, coins, too. I agree that the large spike object is part of a tractor accessory. We've dug one from our dump.

Keep digging!

Thanks CG.
I've become one with my Silver Umax (or two, since I have two now ;D ). I've really learned to recognize the sounds, since there is no display. I just got my other machine back today, so I'll be swinging one in each arm now. ;D

Tell your husband, the junk is in the trunk. ::) ;D
Actually there hasn't been a lot. Just some rusty screws, nails, and pull tabs.

cool finds, your doing really good at that plantation site
Congrats on your finds

Was wondering if you sent copies of the letter asking for permission to hunt that area to the ones who sent you a pm in a certain time period(cant remember specifics)...I'm sure you were swamped with requests...never got a reply...no biggie though just curious to see how you worded it.

Continued success at the plantation
