Was eyeballing a construction site for a couple of days and finally got some time to hit it, Ive been doing pretty good on some construction sites lately...
Dug about 200 bottle caps and was getting tired out , but found some old china and oyster shells so I knew there was a good chance at some old coins in this area..Then found the 1876 Seated Half..I love that feeling when you pick an old coin up, you dont know what exactly what it is but you know its a good one . Then rubbed the dirt off.. Man , people must have thought I was nuts , standing there laughing at a dirty blob in my hand ! :D
Then moved on and picked up the mens 10K ring with emerald and two diamonds (real?)..At first i thought it was another bottle cap...It was right on the surface, surprised no one saw it. Its my first gold of the year..

Happy Hunting!

Jim

That Half is out of sight -- the condition is awesome. Just a warning -- watch that rubbing off of dirt because it could cause serious "downgrading" of the coin. I don't know how anyone can resist rubbing because its human nature to want to know what you got. Anyway, beautiful find!

Super Finds. The half looks like it's in great shape. Let us know if the emerald and diamonds turn out to be real. :icon_thumright:

Nice going Jim, wow, you can rub the dirt off anytime you want to, that is part of the great feeling of finding something that big and old. It's yours now......... :) The ring was a bonus find for sure.

Hello Jim!
Great hunt and great story!

We have a lot of constuction going on in/around downtown Trinidad due to major Interstate 25 work. There's way too much activity to do any MD'ing during the day so I may plan on pulling a "HOUSTON" once I get back into the swing of things! :)

Love that halver!
