I hit a couple of older sites today and found some pretty neat stuff. I first started at an old house site off in the woods and the only thing there was a rock footing that had 60yr old trees growing up through them. I managed to find a trigger guard off an old rifle. After leaving that site I went to an old school house that I got permission for but havent had the time to hit. One of my first targets was the 1900 indian and then came the wheaties. There was 11 wheaties in all with the oldest being a 1918. The others were 18-D, 28-D, 35-D, 40-S, 40, 44,
2 44-Ds, 46, and a 48. The merc was a welcome site at 4in it is a 41-S. I also found a Boy scouts token that says BOY SCOUTS on top and has "The original shoe for boys" along the side and the date July 1910 below a boy scout on a horse. The reverse has a Good luck swastica with the shoe co. and portsmouth o on the edge.
One of my other finds was a "MORRIS SELZ" LIBERTY BELL MEDAL 1776 AWARDED FOR PROFICIENCY IN SCHOLARSHIP AND DEPORTMENT. Award for highest average is on top of the medal and SELZ Chicago USA on the back. I'll have to do some research on the boy scouts thing and the medal to see what the deal is with those. I also found a ring that has a green stone in the middle, an old pocket watch and a compact with the name glenn hays hand etched on the inside of the cover. All in all I had a pretty good day for the oddities.

Real nice batch of finds. I love those kinda days.

The Dfx is a top notch unit when learned well. I've used it now for 6 straight yrs with very good results.

Hi JRS, long time no hear from! You found a great old site..nice assortment of finds. I especially like that Liberty Bell medal..haven't seen one of those before. That IH looks to be in excellent shape.

It's dreary here as well, but good thing it doesn't keep you from getting out to do some exploring.

WTG
