Old Colonial Silver Ring......

Well...I posted this find many months ago, and recieved a LOT of feedback concerning it's possible origins or identification of the bust profile of the colonial looking gentalman on the front....dug it from a solid 12" depth up in S. Indiana. Unfortunately, life situations dictate that I part with the ring in hopes that it brings a respectable bid on ebay. Here's some pics, as well as link to auction if anyone is interested. Even a dealer wouldn't pay but only for the silver weight (unless) it was "authenticated".

Couldn't you get it dated and authenticated? Seems it would be worth much more if you knew what it was. cladius.
