Well, I got my first old coin: 1849 Braided Hair Large 1 Cent Piece.

It rang out like a penny with higher VDI number. It was 3" down, next to an old piece of farm implement in a new park field. They torn down the old house. Don't know why. The grass surrounding the coin is 6 inches tall already.

I was just testing my machine on the old implement to see if my machine was working as the field was very quiet--bing.

I dug down and thought it was a quarter--wow a 1849 coin. I also found a brass door knob, but not old and a metal ring from a horse ...thingy.

Can't believe this old field gave up a coin. I may have found half a musket ball too. Will post pictures tomorrow.

It says this coin is worth at least $10 on Ebay --maybe more. WoooHooo--the dance of joy. Jeff's comment is unprintable. Haha

The light brown stick in the ground to the right center of the farm implement is where I found it.
