I went back to the property I have been hunting for the last week or so. I tried a new field but only finished about a 4th of it because it was filled with iron, so I searched the field with my small coil. The first find was the penny. Then I found the flat button, and the last find was the quarter. It sucked because I was 2 hours from home and knew I couldn't wipe it to see what date it was...so I put it in a little plastic jar that I keep in my car and drove up. I did NOT clean the quarter. I used a soft brush and warm water, that's it. I did have to use peroxide on the indian twice though. It was cruddy. Thanks for looking.

I need to drive down wear you stay and go hunting with you.

We just couldnt be far away from a hospital b/c of the heart attack I would have if I found something like that.

Way to go and excellent finds, keep up the good work

I just noticed it and I could be wrong but it looks like there is a die crack in the bottom part of that quarter?

Wow, talk about a nice coin. I could see part of the flag peeking out above the mud in the one picture, so I was pretty sure you had a seated, just didn't realize it was that nice. Great find!

Looks like you're learning how to consistently dig up the oldies.

Well done.

That quarter is beautiful! Between that picture, and Nick's avatar, I'd be hard-pressed to make a choice ;D.

HA, you have noooo idea. Before I really got into this heavily I was one of them guys. Find a coin and wipe it as hard as needed to get an instant ID, so the suspense really does kill me. I haven't found enough old silver to be able to ID it by little markings like some of the pros here. I've found old pennies and nickels but before the last week and a half I had never found any old quarters. Thanks for all of the replies!! 8)
