It a putter head, sort of a bulbous head with a smooth face.

It reads: "Northwestern Golf Co. Model 1700"

I contacted a woman from Northwestern Golf in the UK and she informed me that they never made a putter model 1700.

Unfortunately, the US Northwestern Golf Co. went out of business several years ago.

I do not know its composition, though it looks brassy.
PLEASE ANY INFO. YOU CAN GIVE ME ABOUT HOW OLD THIS OBJECT IS WOULD BE GREAT
thanks

I don't have my research books on clubs, maybe the internet is a better source than me, but what little I remember is that Northwestern was a department store brand of clubs, never sold through pro shops. The name does not go back to the classic era of clubs, the 30s and 40s. I would guess 50s to 60s on your putter. But I am guessing more than remembering.
