Spent several hours back at the field where I found the bust half on Sunday. My friend Dave found a draped bust large cent without a date. I found a complete brass shoe buckle and a watch fob from the 1904 presidential election for Parker and Davis. (They lost to Teddy Roosevelt).
The grass is now up to two feet tall and we are shutting the field down until they do the first cutting, then we will be back with an attitude. Thanks for looking...Lance

That buckle is sweet Lance. I know what you mean about the tall grass. Tough to hunt in. I was fortunate today. The field that I like to hunt had just been cut.

Those are nice finds Lance.

The Dfx and the 1400 are a great combo. I use them all the time get great depth and coverage. It's a real ground sweeper. Crank ac really high and pre amp of 4 it will get coppers at more than 12 inches.

Whats your method for cleaning stuff? The finished photos look great.
Thanks
I use a soft brass brush and then coat with a good quality paste wax, and buff with a soft tooth brush. Works really great and protects the patina..Lance

I have to ask, how do you clean your finds?
All the copper that I did out of the ground here in Indianapolis, IN USA is just beat up. Crazy thing is that my finds are not the oldest, maybe a few years in the dirt. Would you mind letting me in on your recovery process?

Great finds and awesome buckle! The buckle is Georgian and dates from 1720-1790. Congrats and HH, Mike
