Here's a coincidence

I was out at a nice early 1800 site this weekend where I had found several large cents last weekend. No large cents this time, but 3 Indian heads and 6 wheats. The fun find was two in one hole, the first was a 1909 Indian head and the second was a 1909 VDB Lincoln cent. Almost wonder if it was done on purpose. I kept looking for the S mint on both of them, but no matter how hard I tried, they were just not there. The other indians were 1864 and 1893. The other Lincolns were 1914, 1919, 1944, 1953 D and 1957 D....Lance

Re: Here's a coincidence

Nice finds, and very interesting coincidence. Now if you had lived on the west coast and found those two same dates in one hole, it might have been a very good chance they would have been S mint marks. Congrats on the finds!! HH

Nice finds Lance. Did you check the 1864 Indian to see if it had the "L" on it? My dad just found one detecing last month. Coincidentally, hes lives in VT too.

COOL CENTS- I'd just say the 1909vdb is a error that has no s. And that makes it WAY more valuble...LOL .Still a great and scarce coin. Keep on keepin on--Good Luk---resurector
