Popup Coin

While crossing the front grassy area of a local school to get to the playground for some "easy" finds on a 99-degree day, I got a silver hit that was very loud. Since I never found any silver coins in the grass at the school, I though it was a piece of junk. Big surprise. After digging to 4 inches, JFK was looking at me in 3D (i.e., the face was raised out of the coin). It was a 1968D Kennedy half. I can't find out any information about this coin. I did find another example of a popup coin on eBay as a bracelet with popup Barbers. Nothing else. Any info would be appreciated

it looks like they took a head and glued it on the face of the coin. I dont' think it's a real pop-up

Very cool, I have seen them posted here on treasurenet before I think it was a merc. They are real popup coins, they hammer the design through the coin.
