Re: Silver Ring (finally)

Nice ring, Joe.

I'm betting that your ring was a souvenir for the establishment a famous resort (Sundance Resort) located in North Fork Provo Canyon, UT, founded in 1969 by Robert Redford.

Thanks, Dan ... I think you nailed it! The website also uses lower case "sundance" like the ring.

The photo makes the ring appear heavy; is it?
Nice find for sure! Just curious, how many rings does that make for you now?

I started detecting June 2007 and did real well at the couple of beach sites. During winter season I concentrated more on parks and my personal playground, a dump site dating from 1940's (picked up a couple handfuls of Silver coins including 2 Mercs and that horsehead ring in the photo).

But then I picked up (6" deep) the Silver ring with a diamond at a park next to home in early February ... and another ring every few days. as follows:

Silver ring with diamond (park)
Silver ring with crosses (park)
Silver ring with frog (tot lot)
Silver spinner ring missing spinner (beach)
Titanium band (beach) my 1st!
Silver horsehead ring (dump site)
Junque Spinner with dolphins (tot lot)
Silver "1 THES 4:23" ring (beach)

Last year June to early December I actually did better with 3 gold, 1 platinum(with 13 diamonds!) and the rest silver.

Well, this photo is the 2008 rings to late May. The beaches have been VERY crowded with our heat wave and I am anticipating more real soon. OH.. as an aside... my older boy, 23 enjoys seeing my rings so much that he agreed to go to the beach with me today using my old BH 3300. He expects many rings ... I just hope he doesn't get too discouraged. Clad quarters are a lot easier to find.

The "sundance" ring is small, doesn't fit my pinky.

Nice rings! Wish the quality of my found rings was as good as yours...most of mine are junk.

Joe,

Looks like you've been killing the silver rings lately. Nice work. :thumbsup:I hunted the Pumpkin Patch for my 30th time last week and didn't come away with anything good, neither did my friend Bill.
