Here is my latest ebay find.

Sorry about the capital letters but this is from the site where I got this item. I also have a question at the end.

Thanks

"LISTED IN ALBERT BUTTON REF.? AS MG 4 ; THIS EXAMPLE IS COAT SIZE AND WAS RECOVERED IN THE COLD HABOR AREA OF RICHMOND , VA . THIS STYLE BUTTON LIST @ $125-180 IN THE NORTH /SOUTH TRADER. THIS BUTTON WILL MAKE A GREAT DISPLAY (FRONT ONLY) AND YOU CAN ADD A BACK TO IT AND THAT WILL MAKE IT EVEN BETTER.GREAT INEXPENSIVE EXAMPLE OF THE? CIVIL WAR YANKEE M4."

Question: I know this is a "UNION MICHIGAN COAT STATE SEAL BUTTON." Can anyone give me anymore information about this button?

My books a bit old (1997) but it says the following: (there are actually two listed)

MG 1
Michigan state seal, staff w/narrow shield $120-$170 excavated; $150-$200 NE
(footnote: Silverplated MG 1A's are rarer and more expensive)

MG 4
Michigan state seal, staff w/flag touching top of tent $80-$130 excavated; $100-$150 NE

Values are for specimens in good to excellent condition.

Hope this helps

Thanks guys!

I found this myself this morning. I'll post it here for those who may be interested in Michigan Civil War data.

My Michigan button was dug at Mechanicsville,Va.

The 1st Regiment Michigan Volunteer Infantry fought there.
