I love finding tools, especially craftsman. $1 an inch for a wrench at least. Better than coins. Clean em up and if they are broken they should replace them free. At least they used to do that.

Most of us wouldn't use a shovel unless it was a very remote site or like in a cellar or out house hole. It would cause too much damage to the turf. We use either comercial or homemade trowel type digging tools that are designed for recovering small objects without making huge holes. Check the net for tools at the major distributors of metal detecting equipment, just look under metal detectors. JIM
