Had the itch to get out and hunt today but didnt have time to go anywhere so I did some more hunting in the back yard with the kids. Over a spot that I thought I had pretty well covered I got a quarter signal and less than an inch deep popped up this 1877 Seated Liberty Quarter with Carson City mint mark and only 10 feet from where I found the 1867 shield nickel. The Seated is a first for me. I have some idea of the value and not sure of the grade but its in pretty good shape. HH all, JJ

The condition appears as good to very good. Looks like there are a few deeper scratches as well...

A coin dealer would give you about 15 to 18 dollars for it.

It is worth (red book value) about 30 to 36 dollars.

The red book value should be used for insurance replacement value if you intend on insuring your collection.

Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone. I really couldnt find any deep scratches on the coin, must have been something with my digital cam. I'll try to get a cleaner shot with the scanner. again, thanks for looking and for all the feedback!
