Fake is not a proper term, it is not regal, it is not a Machins Mill, it is an Counterfeit which is what about 80% of all King George III coins that circulated in America.
Probably a nice buy, though do not know what you pad, but you would have been most unhappy if it was a Regal King George III.
My guesstimate on worth $10-30.

I agree. If it can be proven an original 1775 New York counterfeit...well, I may take a vacation ;D Check some of the online dealers and see what they get for them. You'll be in for a shock.

Regal 1775 King George III coins are almost worthless, especially a ground found one, there is no market for them, there is a market for counterfeits, Machin Mills and other imitations, but Regals are a dime a dozen basically.
